CARMILLA SNOW WHITE... so i haven't finished carmilla yet i'm about halfway through but i stumbled across this and it's so short yet so beautiful. the fairy tale tinges and snow white setting slots in beautifully with the horror of carmilla.

there's a bittersweet-ness to this story that aches so much. the real-life baggage and knowledge of krystal's background as an idol into actress, the feeling of loneliness that underlines every word... just a beautiful solo story about krystal in the present day, post-idol life, post-everything that happened (or at least may have happened -- this is RPF after all).

fuck, man. the gender feeling weirdness here, the confusion and the uncertain certainty amber holds at once here. it's all so realistic, the confusion of gender presentation and sexuality conflating into a blob mess of who am i? and i love it so much.

this was a fill for a prompt i left on girlsfest and GOD did girlishpop deliver!!! the obsession the desire the yearning, it's all so strong, as close in feeling for the reader as the girl is close to that CRT in the prompt image. this is another short story but like the others it has so much weight and feeling to it.

i read this so long ago and found it in my bookmarks again recently and thought i'd rec it. this story is very tender; it doesn't pull punches with the reality of the setting but the tenderness is still so, so strong. the ballet AU here is delicately crafted and the lead-up from recovery into the future blooms so beautifully.

BEAUTIFUL AND SICK AND TWISTED. the creepiness here is so strong, so palpable, it's so carefully written and detailed but succinct and hits hard.

This dream is different, but it starts like many of the other ones.

the mindfuck tag here is so appropriate. this is dreamlike, surreal, and unsettling, all at once, and it is so wonderfully written. it's like going on a journey but the end of the journey is creepy twisted fairy tale stuff. and wow wait we got an accidental fairy tale theme going on in these recs kinda lol? anyway the line "Of course, the thread of the dream still twists out of her control" is just fucking genius had to highlight that one. the twist is also fucking insane. if you like surreal fairy tale weirdness you gotta check this out

also a fill for a girlsfest prompt that i left, which was very much yellowjackets AU bait and WOW somniums fucking SLAYED it!!! i know nothing about WJSN but man the feelings here the heartache and the desperation, i love it all so much. such a painful and emotional story.

this one is a LONG TIME favorite of mine for yellowjackets fic. please heed the tags and the ship in general, know what you're getting into and all. it's very in touch with yellowjackets-typical cult-y mind fuck weirdness and i just adore the relationship here between shauna and callie, how callie accepts the call of the wilderness that's laid dormant in her blood, because she's the daughter of a yellowjacket, she was born with it! and the jackie-callie parallels UGH those always get me when it comes to this fucked up relationship.

FUCK ME!!!!!!!! so orsumfenix is one of my absolute FAVORITE writers for blue exorcist, and one time they commented on one of my yellowjackets fics and i was absolutely DELIGHTED and giddy, and later on i stumble upon a yellowjackets fic by them -- no less a lottie-centric fic!!! UGH this is incredible. the season 03 speculation and subsequent alternate universe as it's not meant to comply with the real season 03 is just... chef's kiss. orsumfenix's lottie is so perfect, they really get into her head and the prose is meticulous and carefully crafted to cultivate lottie's various headspaces through each non-linear scene being told. also the DIALOGUE is so close to canon like how do they do it?!?! i read all four chapters today in one sitting and am eager to read more if there is more to come. fantastic work.
